I originally played this course when there were no homes. I recall it being a very tough course. After playing it now with all the homes, it just has a different feel. With the homes, the course is not as intimitating.

Only real negative is presently all the tee boxes need to be re-done (leveled and re-turfed) and the sand traps need actual sand (right now , more dirt than sand.....and very low on volume) But, still for the great layout, condition of greens, pleasant and helpful staff, and ambiance (quite scenic) as long as the rates stay this reasonable (can get good deals on GolfNow and TeeOff.com........but also very reasonable on the course's own site), I will continue to drive the 40 miles (and 2 bridge tolls) to play there. It's one of the 2 courses in The Bay Area I play the most.

One of the best layouts in the area. Not lengthy from the blue tees but degree of difficulty is high. Greens can be difficult when fast and when the winds kick up this course will give you fits.

Greens fees are too expensive without deals or coupons

I got a great rate from an external website. Have played Hiddenbrooke about 5 times now and enjoy the layout. I thought the greens could have been a little quicker - they were very soft in some places. Our foursome had a great day, and will definitely be back in the future.

Good course but a little expensive.

Pace of play was slow, and no marshals around to move players along. I like Hiddenbrooke, but the staff and the course conditions could be much better.

Great course in excellent shape. This was the first time I played here and I really enjoyed it. I found it very challanging and will certainly return.

The course was in excellent condition except for one or two greens that were pretty beat up. It was very windy but overall a great experience, great set up and challenging at all skill levels.

Enjoyable course, plenty of challenges, conditioning was fine. No marshalls around to keep the pace going. Took 5 hours on a slow day because two couples of poor players in front of us couldn't keep up.

I LIKE THE LAYOUT AND HAVE PLAYED IT MANY TIME BEFORE.....HOWEVER THE MAINTENENCE DID SEEM LIKE IT HAD LAGGED BEHIND. I HOPE THAT WHEN I COME PLAY AGAIN IN THE SUMMER THIS WILL HAVE IMPROVED!

Pro shop staff was not user friendly. Resturant staff was great! Good soild course, not very difficult if the wind is not blowing...

The course itself is worth playing. The staff acted like I was doing them a favor for playing there. They don't seem to enjoy their jobs. The food and beverage area is too small and overpriced with too few selections.

Challenging course but really nice. Hard to read the wind around some of the hills and canyons but great course.

They do a shotgun on Mondays at first light for $49 with a cart if you book online. You can't beat that bargain - $49 doesn't get you on with a cart at the crappy muni courses in the South Bay. This course seemed short from the middle tees we played, but it was still plenty challenging. You have to think your way through all your shots. Next time I'd play one tee box back. I'm not sure what the standard greens fees are, but $49 is a steal for this level of course. If it wasn't so far from San Jose, I definitely would play it again and again.

I got a great price because they just punched the greens. The greens were still amazingly fast despite the sand. Beautiful layout and very challenging.

Hiddenbrooke GC is a challenge from any tee! This course is known for it's very windy conditions and fast greens. I will always keep coming back!

One of the most underrated courses in the bay area. Always an extremely enjoyable outing. The #12-#13 combo on the back is unreal.

I will not bring my tournament group back here. There is no excuse for the condition of the tee boxes. Extremely uneven and overly dry so there are tee boxes that are almost dead. The tee boxes are absolutely the worst Ive played on in the past 10 years or so. The fact that they are undulating due to tons of bumps makes finding a good spot to tee the ball up damn near impossible. The traps are not in any better shape than the tee boxes they are extremely bare of sand in almost all traps. Some are actually completely empty and sport GUR signs in each. The strangest thing is that while the tees are dying from lack of water the fairways were so over watered that it was impossible to not leave muddy cart tracks everywhere. When you hit a shot that you know will run you don't get any because the ball just landed in velcro. On a 1 - 10 scale I'd give this course a solid 3 maybe 4. I used to feel it ranked in the 7-9 area.
